DIRECTIONS
to Maile Charters from Kona and the resort hotels.
To get to Kawaihae small boat harbor you will drive
North on highway 19 (The ocean is to your left.) Continue
until you reach the stop sign at the T intersection.
Here you will turn left, downhill, following the sign
to Kawaihae. (Route 270) Go about a mile and turn left
at the second left turn which is the entrance to the
Kawaihae harbor/Port of Kawaihae. Take the next left
before the guard shack (so that you are doubling back
on yourself proceed to the end. You must drive around
the Matson container yard. At the end go right and right
again and drive up to the finger pier. Maile will be
on the dock. Because of the new federal laws (homeland
Security) you may have to stop at the guard shack and
show your ID. |
